Replica of the carving Staten yacht
About the project
We completed an impressive project several years ago: restoring the wood carving of the stream god on the side of the Staten yacht. The original wooden sculpture was badly damaged by weathering and rot, but it was carefully restored in our workshop. A large silicone mold was then made from the restored statue, after which a durable replica of the carving was fabricated from fiberglass reinforced polyester.
With this replica of the carving, another beautiful sculpture has been added to the ship, and the durable copy will remain in perfect condition for decades without the chance of decay. The fiberglass-reinforced polyester replica provides the necessary protection from the elements, preserving the artwork in its original beauty. Thus, the value of the original carvings is respected, while being low-maintenance and protected for a long time.
