Utrecht statues
About the project
For artist Jelle Geertsma from Utrecht, Reszto manufactured the "Utregse koppen". Jelle Geertsma modelled nine well-known Utrechters from wax. The intention is that new "Utregse koppen" will be added each time.
Reszto turned the wax models into casting molds in silicone rubber. These silicone molds were used to cast the replicas. The Utreg heads were cast in a mixture of resin and marble powder, or synthetic resin composite.
After casting and refinishing the heads, the finished sculptures were finished in a matte black coating that resembled dark patinated bronze.
